Order of Christian Initiation
of Adults
What is OCIA? (Formerly RCIA)
O.C.I.A. stands for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is the process through which adults (and children over the age of reason) are formed in the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church. OCIA involves weekly classes to learn about the Catholic faith and culminates in reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at Easter.
All those who are considering becoming Catholic—or just have questions about what Catholics believe—are welcome to join us to learn more about Catholicism in a welcoming, small-group setting.
